1. Introduction
1.1 Terms and Conditions are the basis of Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program. They are intended to protect both Members and Africa World Airlines. It is the Member’s responsibility to read and understand them correctly.
1.2 These Terms and Conditions are effective at the commencement of the program and may be amended by Africa World Airlines Ltd (herein “AWA”) from time to time. Members will have access to the Terms and Conditions of the Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program and any changes accordingly.
1.3 The Terms and Conditions of this Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program apply to every Member
2. Definitions
Partial refunds are honoured on Domestic return tickets only. Regional return tickets are not partially refundable. No changes or refunds are possible after check-in.
In these Terms and Conditions unless the context otherwise requires:
Active Member at a point in time means a member who has earned or redeemed Miles on their Membership account within the previous consecutive 12-month period from that point in time.
Benefits means any of the facilities, discounts, services or arrangements offered or available to a member as a result of membership in the Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program including earning and redeeming Miles and Awards.
Tier Bonus means additional Miles awarded for travel on an Eligible Flight in a particular Tier.
Electronic Card means the Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program Membership electronic Card that Africa World Airlines may issue to the members virtually.
Fare Conditions means all terms and conditions of a fare, ticket or carriage, however, described, which apply in relation to one or more flights.
Flight means one-way travel (without a Stopover) on a scheduled air service even if the travel includes a change of aircraft.
Flight Segment means a segment that has been or is intended to be flown.
Member means a person who is a member of the Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program
Miles means frequent flyer miles awarded to Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program pursuant to these Terms and Conditions.
Tier Miles are credits which are awarded to Members in accordance with clause 4.2 and which entitle Members to attain a higher program status level or retain a current status level.
Frequent flyer Number means the personal identification number that is issued to the Member by the Africa World Airlines Frequent Flyer Program.
Terms and Conditions means these Terms and Conditions between Africa World Airlines and each Member, including all schedules and attachments.
Please read the below information about the program, so you know everything there is to know about the Medaase Loyalty program.
3. General Terms and Conditions
1. Each eligible person applying for Medaase Loyalty membership in the Program accepts and agrees to abide by the Terms and Conditions set out in the contractual relationship between Africa World Airlines and each member of Medaase Loyalty. Africa World Airlines will receive, store, and process the provided data of members to administrate the aspects of Medaase Loyalty as set out in these Terms and Conditions. Members consent to receiving marketing communications concerning our range of products and services at the time of signing up, which does not affect your right to later opt-out of the email marketing communications.
2. Africa World Airlines reserves the right without prior notice to modify (in whole or part) and to terminate the Program at any time. Modifications may concern the rules of the Program, membership conditions, the number of Miles required for different destinations, the period of validity of Miles, or the number of Miles earned by fare category or routing.
3. Africa World Airlines reserves the right, without giving a reason at its sole discretion, to rescind or refuse membership of the Medaase Loyalty.
4. Africa World Airlines reserves the right to terminate the Medaase Loyalty at any time but will use its reasonable endeavours to give at least three (3) months’ notice to Members. The termination notice will be published on the Medaase Loyalty website
5. Each member should have their own unique personal email address.
6. It is not permitted to use the email address of a travel agent or similar establishments.
7. Currently, Miles are not transferable between different membership numbers.
8. Africa World Airlines reserves the right without giving notice to the Members to audit their accounts and records for compliance with the Terms and Conditions.
4. Changes to the Medaase Loyalty Frequent Flyer Program
4.1 Subject to the terms and conditions, Africa World Airlines reserves the right to make any changes (whether material or otherwise) to the MedaaseLoyalty Frequent Flyer Program, the Terms and Conditions, the Awards or Benefits offered including:
a) Changes to:
i. The ways in which Miles are earned and redeemed.
ii. Miles earning and redeeming rates and Eligible Flights.
iii. Award Flight on non-bookable periods.
iv. Awards or Benefits, including the continued availability of Awards or Benefits.
v. Award restrictions or conditions.
vi. Tier Miles restrictions and conditions.
vii. Membership level requirements and benefits.
viii. Ticketing procedures.
ix. The expiry of accrued Miles.
b) Changes to Africa World Airlines products, services or flights.
Africa World Airlines will use best efforts to advise Members of material changes to these Terms and Conditions and, where such changes will limit Benefits:
a) Where the Benefit is provided by Africa World Airlines, to give Members at least 2 months’ notice.
b) Where the Benefit is provided by a third party, where possible give Members at least 30 days’ notice.
4.3 Without limiting this clause 4 in any way, Members will be taken to have received the notice referred to in clause 4.2 if Africa World Airlines notifies Members of the change by:
a) Providing notice at the e-mail address provided to Africa World Airlines by the Member.
b) For Members living outside Ghana, by posting details of the changes at the Africa World Airlines website.
5. Termination or Suspension of Medaase Loyalty Program
5.1 Africa World Airlines gives no warranty as to the continuing availability of the Medaase Loyalty Program. Africa World Airlines may terminate or suspend the Medaase Loyalty Program at any time. Africa World Airlines will give at least three months’ notice to Members of such termination or suspension, except if Africa World Airlines ceases to operate an airline business in which case the Medaase Loyalty Program will cease immediately.
5.2 If Africa World Airlines terminates or suspends the Medaase Loyalty Program, Members will be able to redeem Points during the notice period in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, except where Africa World Airlines is ceasing to operate an airline business and/or has gone into liquidation or other form of administration, in which case Africa World Airlines may terminate or cancel any Awards or Benefits immediately without notice.
6. Membership
Membership of the Medaase Loyalty Program is open only to individuals. Membership is not open to persons under 18 years of age, staff of Africa World Airlines, its parents, and affiliated, and associated companies, families, groups, companies, trusts, partnerships, other entities, government departments, agencies, animals or inanimate objects.
Persons wishing to become Members can join for free. Membership is offered at the discretion of African World Airlines. Africa World Airlines has the right to accept or reject any application for Membership.
Each Member may have only one Medaase Loyalty Program account.
6.4 Successful applicants will be assigned a Membership number. The Membership number, the Member’s full registered name, and tier expiration date will be used for the security of the Member’s Membership information. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that their membership number and other security information are kept secure.
Note: To ensure your membership number is kept secure, never write it down and, if you change your password, avoid choosing obvious numbers like your date of birth or the last four digits of your phone number.
6.5 New Members may, before they use their Membership and within two weeks of receiving their Membership number, notify Africa World Airlines that they no longer wish to be a Member. Africa World Airlines will then cancel their Membership, Membership is not transferable.
A Member’s mailing address may be used to determine their eligibility for Benefits, promotions and other offerings.
Each Member must advise Africa World Airlines of any change of name, address, or other details as soon as practicable after the change. Changes to the mailing address, password or other details may be made directly at your Account on the website or by calling or e-mailing the Frequent Flyer Support Centre. You must supply your Membership number and password when making any such changes. Written proof must be supplied for any change of name and may be required for other changes. Africa World Airlines is not responsible for any failure by a member to notify Africa World Airlines of any changes in accordance with this clause, or for any incorrect changes notified Africa World Airlines.
Members may, at any time, cancel their Membership by providing written notice to Africa World Airlines.
Note: Due to administrative constraints, upon receipt of a written notice under clause 6.8, Africa World Airlines will cancel the relevant Membership and all accumulated Miles in that Member’s account will immediately expire. Accordingly, Africa World Airlines recommends that Members carefully plan all cancellations to avoid unintentional loss of accumulated points.
Africa World Airlines reserves the right without giving notice to the Members to audit their accounts and records for compliance with the Terms and Conditions.
6.10 Applicants accepted as Members will be given a Membership Number. A Member may not have multiple Memberships, and thus each Member must maintain only one account. Upon activating their membership, Members agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
7. Use of the Card, Membership Number and Benefits
7.1 By using the Card or Membership number, or claiming any Benefit, the Member agrees to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and provides the consents specified in the clause relating to personal information. Miles may only be earned and/or redeemed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.
7.2 The Card is and will remain the property of Africa World Airlines and must be returned on demand. It is not a payment card.
7.3 The E-Card, Membership number and password are valid for use only by the Member and are not transferable in any circumstances. If there is a validity period on an E-Card, the Card may be used only during that validity period. Do not provide your member’s FF number to another passenger to accrual miles.
7.4 Africa World Airlines reserves the right at any time to require the Member to produce their Card and to quote their Membership number and password in order to earn Miles with Africa World Airlines or in connection with a transaction with any Non-airline Partner or airline partner, or while booking, ticketing or while the Member is traveling on or claiming or utilizing any Miles, Awards or Benefits.
7.5 In the event of loss, theft or unauthorized use of your Card or unauthorized use of your Membership number or password, it is your responsibility to advise Africa World Airlines as soon as possible. The Member is liable for all use of the Card or Membership number until Africa World Airlines is notified of the loss, theft or unauthorized use of the Card.
8. Member Obligations and Responsibilities
8.1 Members must not
a) Act in any way which breaches these Terms and Conditions; or
b) Abuse or misuse of the Medaase Loyalty program, any Awards , Benefits, facilities, services or arrangements accorded to the Member as a result of Membership including by:
i. Engaging in illegal or fraudulent activities.
ii. Supplying or attempting to supply false or misleading information.
iii. Making a misrepresentation to Africa World Airlines or any Airline Partner, Africa World Airlines Interline partner or Non-airline Partner.
iv. Selling, assigning, transferring or acquiring, or offering to sell, assign, transfer or acquire any Award, Benefit or Points other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
v. Acting in a hostile, abusive or aggressive way towards Africa World Airlines staff or the staff of any Airline Partner, Africa World Airlines Interline partner or Non-airline Partner.
vi. Acting in an unruly manner on board a flight or in any airport lounges
vii. Refusing to follow reasonable instructions from any Africa World Airlines staff or the staff Airline Partner, Africa World Airlines Interline partner or Non-airline Partner.
8.2 Each Member is responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient Miles to redeem for any Award that they request.
8.3 Each Member is responsible for regularly checking their Membership account and must:
a) Notify Africa World Airlines of any omissions, incorrect entries or other discrepancies within three months of the applicable flight;
b) Omissions, incorrect entries or other discrepancies can be corrected through the member´s portal
9. Suspension or Termination of Membership
9.1 If a Member has committed a material breach of any of the Terms and Conditions, whether intentionally or otherwise, then Africa World Airlines may do any one or more of the following:
a) Suspend or terminate the Member’s Membership and/or the right of the Member to benefit from the Medaase Loyalty program;
b) Reverse or cancel the Member’s Miles or any part thereof; or
c) Cancel or refuse to honor any Awards (including ticketed Award Flights), benefits or both, that have been redeemed by or provided to the Member.
2If Africa World Airlines intends to take action under clause 9.1, it will notify the Member of its intention and the reason for that action. The Member will then have 21 days to respond to this notice by rectifying the breach (where possible) and providing any reason why Africa World Airlines should not take action (provided that Africa World Airlines may suspend the Member’s account until any review is completed). Africa World Airlines will review the response and advise the Member of its position.
Membership will terminate automatically on the death of a Member. Miles earned but not yet redeemed or transferred prior to the death of the Member will be canceled. Africa World Airlines will close the Member’s account on notification of the Member’s death. Africa World Airlines will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered by any person as a result of such cancellation.
Membership termination may also occur if a member behaves unruly onboard any Africa World Airlines-operated flight
If a member physically assaults an Africa World Airline staff
